Master Pedro Nel was born deep in the jungle, beside turbulent rivers. His childhood was spent among the forests, mountains, and paths, immersed in the full fury of our tropics. From there comes his devotion, his almost mystical reverence for nature and animals. The appearance of this book reveals the eagerness to present the work of one of the most multifaceted artists in Colombia. Mario Calderón Rivera, Manager of the Central Mortgage Bank, brought together the Bank of the Republic and the Central Insurance Company in this endeavor. Additionally, he employed people of fine sensitivity to analyze, photograph, design, and print it, coordinated by Inés Gutiérrez Gómez. This combination of factors explains the beautiful edition, which we face with aesthetic pleasure.
