What this book proposes, without dogmatism but also without hesitation, is to make immediate and truthful the understanding of the transformations that, following the advent of the Republic, occur in Colombian domestic architecture applied from 1819 onwards. Both in its constructive forms and functionality as well as in the exterior and decorative character of its woods, in public and private buildings our architecture, by breaking with the ideas and schemes typical of the Hispanic tradition, produces an evident metamorphosis in the fundamental aspects that constitute the general tone of its development.
